Bow Hunt

It was time again for the yearly camping trip to Manti for the bow hunt. Not that much bow hunting goes on. The guys all go up the weekend before so they can get that out of their systems. It's always so pretty up there and the kids have so much fun being together with their cousins.

Meg and Grandma walking up the steepest hill ever! I always think I'm in good shape until I get all the way up there and walk up that hill. It about kills me every time.
Meg was obsessed with picking all of the flowers.
We had flowers galore in our camp.

Our little fam in the mtns. Don't I look super attractive when I'm camping?!
One of the longest games of horseshoes I've ever watched
Walker busy building a bridge
Boys being boys pretty much sums this one up

We have a first grader!

I can't believe that we have a first grader. Am I really old enough to have an almost seven year old boy? I guess so. Walker was so excited for his first day of first grade. He was up extra early, got himself dressed, and was ready to go. Too bad I wasn't even out of bed yet. :) Walker is super smart and loves to learn. He has picked up reading w/ no trouble at all. I'm always amazed at the words he reads w/ out any help. His favorite part of school is definitely lunch and recess though.

Rez days

One of our all time favorite things to do with any extra time we have is to take the boat out on the rez. It's something we can do as a family and we all have so much fun. It seems like we haven't had as much time this summer as last year. Probably because June had such crappy weather. Walker has learned to be a little more brave this year and Meg actually enjoys riding on the tube or out on the wake skate with Cory. Last year she kind of just hung out and didn't see the fun in it. Anyway...I'm just glad I gave in and let Cory buy the boat last year...there...I said it.

How could anyone resist that face?!

tee ball

I can't believe that tee ball has come and gone already this year. It's always so much fun to watch Walker get out and play. He's getting better and better every year. He was on a really fun team this year with a few of his good buddies.
waiting for some action in the outfield

The "good buddies" I mentioned earlier. Jarrett, Walker, Austin, and Jonah
It's always so funny to watch the kids run from base to base trying to keep their helmets on. It's even more funny when they're trying to keep their pants on at the same time. Such good entertainment!

Another note about Walker - we just registered him for 1st grade today. I can't believe that I have a first grader! Kindergarten was one thing, but 1st grade! He's getting so big now. It's always a sad day when it hits you realize your little guy is getting big.
