Reasons turning 30 isn't so bad...

1. I am old enough to have two kids that I adore more than anything.

2. I am old enough to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with the sweetest husband in the world this year.

3. I have been around long enough to realize that I am surrounded by a huge amount of family and friends that love me and I know I can always count on. (you wouldn't believe all the calls, texts, emails, and facebook comments
I've gotten today. And even a Birthday shout out on Darla's blog! ) -Thanks everyone!

4. As I am typing this Cory, Meg, and Walker are in the kitchen making me a birthday cake. (only one egg dropped on the floor)

5. I don't feel any different than I did yesterday when I was 29.

6. Some of my very best friends are over 30 and they're still cool! :)

7. I've still got many years to look forward to full of new babies, more years with Cory, new opportunities, watching Walker and Meg and whoever comes along grow into the people they will become.

8. Maybe I can start acting like a grown up...probably not. :)

Thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes. Now that I'm actually 30 I don't have to dread a birthday for 10 more years.

Vegas!

What an awesome birthday present! Cory tried to surprise me for my birthday but sadly he's just not very good at surprises :). I knew he was planning something because I got kicked out of the room when he'd get on the computer. I was in the kitchen and heard Phantom of the Opera belt out of our speakers. Cory hurried and turned it down and said, "DID YOU HEAR THAT???" So funny. If he wouldn't have said anything it probably wouldn't have registered in my mind what had happened. There goes part one of my surprise. Then he decided if he couldn't surprise me with "what" we were doing he would surprise me with "when". He said he'd pack my bags for me. Needless to say I was a little stressed about this part. This part got ruined too...and this time it wasn't Cory's fault. We came home Sunday night and there was a message on the answering machine from Cory's home teaching partner about not going home teaching the next weekend because Cory will be out of town! I hurried and turned it off and told Cory I probably shouldn't have heard that message. Poor Cory!! Thanks for trying though. You are the absolute best husband a girl could ever ask for. He even got a substitute for my primary class!

We went with Kurt and Shay and had a blast. We got to witness when Kurt surprised Shay with the news that they weren't in Delta for the weekend - they were going to Vegas! So fun.
Shopping at the outlet stores Kurt, Shay, Cory.
Sexy glasses right?!
It was 70 degrees there! And I came home to our town covered in fog! Yuck!
Going in to see Phantom. It was SO good.
The second night we went and saw The Blue Man Group. I absolutely loved both shows. We stayed at New York New York, ate lots of good food, had lots of laughs, had some very late nights, and I found a love for electronic Black Jack! Thanks so much for the fun and for being so good to me Cory! Luv ya.

New YeArS EvE!!

We spent our New Years Eve with Jamie, (Barry had to work), her five kids, and my mom and dad. We had tons of fun. Jamie let us all crash at her house until way too late. We had lots of good food (of course we did..it's still the holidays!), played some fun games - True Colors, Bingo, Would you Rather, and Scene it. The kids entertained themselves with the Wii playing Guitar Hero. Meg and Emalee went missing for a little too long and were a little too quiet. When they reappeared they had given themselves some very impresssive hairdos. Soaking wet hair -mostly gel!!. (we should have known better when we didn't hear from them for so long). Meg also found a new love for Princess dresses. She had on three of them - one on top of the other. Thanks for the fun guys!
