Well, we made it. It was super hard and I am definitely paying for it today (I can barely walk ) but we finished our 1/2 marathon that we've been obsessing about since January. It was "fun" if thats what you'd call it. The first 8-9 miles I felt great, I thought it would be a breeze, but about the last 3 miles I thought I might die. It was a lot of downhill and I liked the downhill - it makes you run faster :) But then there were the uphill times where I thought I would die (again) Anyway, I am very proud of Cory and I for finishing and actually DOING it. Cory beat me by 1 1/2 minutes because I had to stop at the port-a-potty at the 11 mile mark! Or man I would have smoked him..haha, no he did great I was dying way before he even felt anything. When I crossed the finish line I was mean and the first thing I said to Cory was, "I hate you, I'm never doing this again!" How rude am I??
Thanks mom and dad for going down with us. It was great to have you there rooting for us and playing with the kids. You're the best! Thanks for always supporting us in everything we do. (no matter how crazy)
We stayed at Ruby's Inn, ate good food, swam, walked around the rock shop (Walker's fave), shopped in the little country store, and had a killer game of dominos with Walker and mom. Anyway, I thought I should let everyone know that I am still alive and I think I may come around to doing it again next year. I need a month or two to forget. Oh, and thanks to everyone who wished us luck. We definitely needed it and it was great to have people thinking of us, you're all the best. :)
I didn't get enough pictures of this trip. It's too hard to lug the camera around with us everywhere. I didn't get any pics of my mom-don't worry, I'll get you on here one of these days.
